How to test a joint prosthesis

Designing a joint prosthesis for a specific patient can be difficult. How can you be sure that the prothesis will work to its best ability? With the AnyBody Modeling System (AMS) you can test the prosthesis in a human simulation. We are proud that you can indeed upload a screening of a specific patient and test the design of the prosthesis on the patient in our software.

AMS is a computational software for musculoskeletal modeling. The models are made of the skeleton and muscles of a body. Hence, you can test everything that has to do with this. This could be the biomechanics of different parts of the body. It could be kinematics or kinetics. Hence, you can test many aspects on the average human body, a specific body, or even an animal, etc.

Many different industries can use this software. Any industry that has to do with the movement of the body. This could be ergonomics, sports, and of course orthopedics. Orthopedics can optimize the design of a joint prosthesis with AMS.

Optimize your joint prosthesis design with AMS

You can test an implant or prosthesis in the model in AMS. Hence, you can test how the implant design works with the body of your patient. You can see if the design is optimal for the specific patient. Do the muscles and bones move properly with the implant? Or does it give some problems with its surroundings? Hence, you can see if it puts extra load on a joint or muscle.

If the design does not work accurately with the body, you can change faults in the design. Hence, it gives a more accurate design of the implant or prosthesis. Further, AMS can help you to make sure that the prosthesis will be right for the specific patient.
