Cross-country sit-skiing is an endurance sport in the Winter Paralympics where athletes, with impairment in legs and/or trunk, compete sitting in a sledge mounted on a pair of skis and propel themselves with a pair of poles.
Senior Lecturer Marie Lund Ohlsson from the Swedish Winter Sport Research Centre at Mid Sweden University defended her thesis in March with the title: Double Poling in Cross-Country Skiing – Biomechanical and Physiological Analysis of Sitting and Standing Positions.
In this webcast, Marie will show results from AnyBody simulations of seated double poling of both joint reactions and muscular work.
